Tuition
Fees for the complete academic year 2010-2011 are $9,600. This includes a non-refundable fee of $250 for registration and $350 for student activities. This $600 is due upon acceptance.
Cost for living in one of the Midreshet Rachel v'Chaya apartments is $325 a month (including all utilities except telephone; linens and kitchen utensils are also provided.)
To reserve a place in one of our apartments, a $325 deposit is required.
We also have programs for Elul, Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. For fees, please contact our Israeli office.
Tuition is due in two payments - payment of half the fee is due three days after arrival and the balance of payment is due within three months after arrival. Payment can be made either to the Midreshet Rachel v'Chaya office directly or through our US office. Payment may be made in US dollars, or in other major currencies at the current exchange rates. Preferred methods of payment of tuition are cash, check or bank transfer. Payments by Visa or Mastercard are welcome, but are subject to a 2.5% surcharge due to additional bankcharges incurred by Midreshet Rachel v'Chaya. Inquiries concerning fees for a part-time program are welcomed.
Scholarships and Financial Assistance
MASA
MASA is a joint project of the Jewish Agency and the Israel Government to promote long term study in Israel. The basic requirements are that you be between the ages of 18 and 31 and attending a program of at least 5 months in a MASA recognized school (which we are). MASA offers an automatic grant of $4500 for a 10 month program for college graduates from North America and a $1000 grant for college graduates from other countries. In addition, MASA also offers a financial needs based scholarship which together with the grant could reach a maximum of $10,000. S. Daniel Abraham Scholarship Program
Midreshet Rachel v'Chaya is an approved institution for the S. Daniel Abraham Scholarship Program. You can find more information and apply online on the Abraham Scholars Website.
The Zoltan and Ibolya Bernat, z"l Memorial Scholarship
Fund.
This scholarship provides a limited number of monthly stipends to married couples studying at Darche Noam (husband at Shapell’s and wife at Midreshet Rachel). The stipends are up to a maximum of $400 per month for living expenses and are awarded based on academic/leadership potential and financial need. JNF’s Plant Your Way to Israel program
Youth through age 26 can raise money for a trip to Israel by asking family and friends to plant trees with JNF. Half of the proceeds of each donation ($36 minimum) will go towards planting a tree in Israel and the other half goes into a student account which can be redeemed for any trip to Israel. Special tree certificates (one per each $36 donation) is sent to a designee on behalf of the donor. Funds may be redeemed when a total of 10 sales have been made, and $180 is accrued towards the student trip. See www.jnf.org/pyw for more information and registration details.
