Safety
and accident prevention are, for the most part, ethically clear-cut
areas; safety is important and we must prevent accidents. The issues
up for discussion, though, are not whether to, but how to efficiently
prevent accidents and how high accident prevention is on our list
of priorities. On this issue the Jewish ethical and halakhic approach
is straightforward: it places an extremely high emphasis on safety
and takes a clearly proactive approach to accident prevention. This
page is dedicated to the memory of accident victims with a prayer
that it will help to raise awareness in this crucial area.
