Textiles and Torah -- Two areas of halakha, shatnez (forbidden mixtures of linen and wool) and tekhelet (the blue string on the tzitzit), have both recently merited increased awareness in the Jewish world. Shatnez labs have sprung up in many Jewish areas, allowing many more to avoid unknowingly transgressing this prohibition.
