SHAPELL’S/DARCHE NOAM AND MIDRESHET RACHEL V’CHAYA:
HELP US BE ABLE TO ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU!
Even in these difficult times, Shapell’s/Darche Noam and Midreshet Rachel v’Chaya continue to be here for our students and alumni. Our students continue to learn Torah from their rabbis and teachers via Zoom (from their dorm rooms, apartments, or the beit midrash, all in accordance with Ministry of Health regulations). New students in North America and England have already joined us, now learning “virtually,” but looking forward to the time when they can get on a plane and learn with us physically in Jerusalem. Many of our alumni (and others) are taking advantage of our distance-learning opportunities and are in touch with us personally for guidance and chizuk.
One student recently sent a Whatsapp message, writing, “I just wanted to say thank you for all you have done this past week and in general for the students here! You have literally saved my Yiddishkeit and I’m so grateful to be here every day.”
Another student wrote, “I just wanted to thank you for keeping our boat afloat in the middle of a worldwide crisis. We're all so lucky to have you in our lives, and we learn so much from you every day.”
Though a worldwide pandemic is, thank G-d, unusual, our response is not. For the last 42 years we have had the zechut to do all that we can to give our all for our students and alumni.
The current economic crisis puts us in an extremely precarious position, without a natural financial guarantee for the future. For obvious reasons, tuition income has almost dried up. Many of our donors are themselves experiencing financial challenges and cannot help us in the ways they have in the past. We are unable to travel to North America for our regular fundraising trips, and planning a major fundraising event is certainly out of the question.
In order to make sure that we will be able to be here in the future for our students, alumni and for Klal Yisrael, please participate in this special “Day of Giving”!
We must raise $250,000 to make sure that we can continue to stay afloat – for you, our beloved alumni, for our present students, and for the students of the future. If you are financially able to, please generously support us – and encourage your family and friends to do the same.
Thank you for your support. By being here for us YOU will help make it possible for us to continue to be here for you – and for our students- for decades to come.
