The program gives new and continuing students an opportunity to hone their Hebrew skills and enrich their Torah learning during "summer vacation."

Ulpan - Improving Your Spoken Hebrew The Pre-Elul Intensive Ulpan is an opportunity to improve your spoken Hebrew. The concentrated program is geared at: conquering the fear of expressing yourself in Modern Hebrew; improving Hebrew listening skills; gaining experience in major elements and structures of the Hebrew language; having a controlled exposure to the modern Israeli experience. The Pre-Elul Program, with its focus on spoken Hebrew, complements and reinforces the reading comprehension emphasis of the year-long Shapell's Hebrew Language program. The students are divided into two levels, determined by verbal Hebrew skills. Interactive classroom work is integrated with independent study periods.

Daily schedule:

9am-10am	Shiur
10am-1pm	Intensive Ulpan (2 levels)
1pm	Lunch
1:40pm	Mincha
2-4pm	Intensive Ulpan (2 levels)

There is no additional cost to Shapell's students (incoming and continuing) for participation in this program. Two meals per day (breakfast and lunch) are provided.

Cost - $180*.
Housing (an additional $75 fee) might be available.
