About Y.E.S. Women’s Division

YES Women’s Division is a 2 or 3 week mechina (beginner) program for  women that takes place at Midreshet Rachel V’Chaya College in Jerusalem.

The program is designed for students who would like to get a taste of Torah learning, as well as experiencing life in seminary. The daily schedule includes one-on-one text study as well as classes on a variety of topics including Chumash, Pirkei Avot, Major Topics in Jewish Thought, a Hebrew ulpan, and time for introspection and reflection. There are several tiyulim (trips) and activities, including meeting personalities in Jerusalem, hikes and and an overnight trip to the North. Some, but not all, classes are text-based.

An emphasis is placed on giving each student personal attention and designing a schedule right for her in a warm, friendly environment. The program takes place in the seminary, but all classes, tiyulim, etc. are exclusively for YES participants.
